- Project Challenge 1: How will you brief the project players? A project involves objectives, people, equipment, information etc to achieve something which has not been done exactly like that before. Because it is unique, it can be very difficult to get others to engage in something which they cannot visualise.
- Project Challenge 2: How will you organise your project? How will your project work be structured and organised? Agile, Scrum, Predictive, Hybrid etc. Unless the project methodology is agreed for the organisation as a whole (and not only in the project team), it is difficult to assign the roles and responsibilities to implement your project.
- Project Challenge 3: Uncover and Engage your Stakeholders! Projects deliver unique products, services or results but whether these are wanted or accepted by anyone involved depends on their opinion, not yours! They also influence how much support or opposition you will get and they can also identify pitfalls and risks.
- Project Challenge 4: Orchestrate the action When the project team take up their roles and start working, the project manager’s role evolves to supporting and leading the team. Much of this involves communication, whether delegating, explaining, problem solving, seeking resources (people and budget) and so on. In this module we consider some of the main themes to help make your project implementation more successful.
- Project Challenge 5: Know you are on track – and keep your Stakeholders aligned. “Mind over matter” is important, particularly until the results of your project begin to become visible.
- Project Challenge 6: Conclude with a flourish A clear project closure is a great opportunity to cement relationships for the next time by thanking the project players. It is also the very last opportunity to learn the lessons, delegate the implementation of improvements and tell everybody that the project is over.
